Want to be a part of Freedom Summer but can’t commit to the full schedule?

We still want you to join us!

For the first time ever, we will be offering a limited number of sessions open to young people ages 12-25 throughout Michigan and the U.S., with an intention of centering Black youth and young adults in the space. These will all take place via zoom. They will each be short introductions into special topics that have been favorites over the last two years:

July 7, 3:30-6 PM | Present-Day Black Liberation Ecosystem & Community Care 🖤

July 12, 3:30-6 PM | Community Organizing & Tactics 📢

In order to get the most out of our time together, we ask you to please:

Join from a computer, if possible (there may be opportunities to interact virtually which will be easier if you don’t join from a phone).
Have your camera on at least for the first 15 minutes of the session– because you are new to the space and we may have guest speakers, this will allow us to build better relationships with one another even though our time will be short.
Participate fully! Remember, you’re choosing to join us. You’ll get the most out of each session by using the chat, coming off mute as it’s appropriate, and giving lots of reactions 😁
Ensure your zoom name reflects what you’d like to be called. We also ask that you add your pronouns after it, so we can disrupt the practice of assuming gender identity.
